Top 5 Beach Bars Along the Seacoast
With summer just around the corner travelers are eager to enjoy drinks and food under the sun at some of the area's top bars and restaurants. The establishments below make our list due to their atmosphere, menu, uniqueness and open-air seating. Hampton, Salisbury, Seabrook, Rye and Newburyport all boast a wide variety of quality options but we've compiled a list of our top 5 beach bars for the 2019 season, in no particular order. (1) BERNIE'S BEACH BAR (HAMPTON)
A Hampton Beach favorite, Bernie’s is often busy and has the largest deck on the Hampton Beach strip, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, great food, fresh cocktails, a solid beer menu and nightly music.
(2) THE DECK (SALISBURY)
The DECK is an open-air bar and restaurant known for their burgers, seafood and tropical cocktails with stunning views of the Merrimack River. Their selection of cocktails, local brews and famous rum buckets will keep you cool. They offer complimentary valet service and live entertainment all summer long.
(3) SURFSIDE (SALISBURY)
SurfSide Salisbury Beach is an oceanfront dining spot and outdoor live music venue. The giant 8000 square foot deck VIP Cabana rentals are truly unique. Sunday’s are known as “Reggae Sundays” in which some of the top local reggae artists play shows for all to enjoy.
(4) PLUM ISLAND GRILLE (PLUM ISLAND)
The Plum Island Grille is a charming Mediterranean-style restaurant located on Plum Island, just five minutes from downtown Newburyport, MA. Their award winning sunset views, some of the best north of Boston, are reminiscent of Key West providing stunning views of the sun setting over the marsh of Plum Island. The menu offers an eclectic variety of small plates, fresh seafood, farm raised meats, gluten-free and vegetarian entrees.
(5) PETEY'S SUMMERTIME SEAFOOD & BAR (RYE)
Petey's is an ocean view casual dining spot with New England style clam bakes, 2 levels of seating, an outdoor picnic area and award-winning seafood including their clam chowder, fried clams and lobster rolls. This place is typically very busy in the summer, but if you have to wait to be served it will be worth the time!
